Where did the darkness come from

With this post I am starting a new podcast, based in part on a conversation I had with a friend of mine named Sam. In the podcast I tell an interesting story about Sam and his experience with the power of prayer and doing good to others.

I am also starting a study on where the darkness comes from - God is light, and in him is no darkness, so how did the darkness come into existence?
